The experimental treatment being pioneered by Dr. Nolan in Connecticut USA is actually available for Australian patients to try NOW, provided your opthalmologist is willing to participate in an experimental trial.

If you or a family member have been diagnosed with recessive Stargardt's Disease and you would like to arrange a trial of this treatment, sned us an email to info@stargardts-au.com giving your contact details and the Australian state in which you live. We will send details to present to your doctor or suggest other opthalmologists who are willing to prescribe the treatment.

This treatment is regarded by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) as 'experimental" so be aware that the responsibility for any consequences rests with you and your doctor.

There is a small quantity of the drug which Stargardts Australia has made available for an initial short term trial. If yourdoctor has been able to establish that the treatment has been beneficial, then your doctor must apply to the TGA for Special Access to the drug for longer term usage.

If your doctor's application is approved, the TGA will request in the approval letter that your doctor notify them of any ill effects or if the treatment is discontinued.
